WAGNER GRADING POLICY

PROGRESS-BASED GRADES at WAGNER

Wagner's Progress-Based Grades reflect,

along with detailed feedback from teachers, different levels of:

 

**How students are operating  with the academic standards that compose their courses;

**Students' understanding of content and core concepts; and

**Students' growth with regards to essential skills associated with each academic discipline.

 

The following represents each progress-based grade with a short explanation. 

EXCEEDS STANDARDS

This Wagner student excels well beyond the basic requirements of the class.

They display deep understanding of content, and demonstrate mastery of disciplinary skills. 

 

GRADE CODE for REPORT CARDS: ME

Typical Number Range: 95-100

ABOVE STANDARDS

This Wagner students operates above the basic requirements of the course.

They display a firm understanding of content, and is nearing mastery of disciplinary skills. 

 

GRADE CODE FOR REPORT CARDS: MA

Typical Number Range: 85-94

MEETS STANDARDS

This Wagner student meets the requirements of the course.

They display understanding of content, and show progress with disciplinary skills. 

Additional support is likely needed in this subject.

 

GRADE CODE FOR REPORT CARDS: MT

Typical Number Range: 75-84.

APPROACHING STANDARDS

This Wagner student meets SOME requirements of the course, while struggling with most others.

They display uneven understanding of content, and show minor progress with disciplinary skills.

Additional support is needed for this student. 

 

GRADE CODE FOR REPORT CARDS: MP

Typical Number Range: 65-74.

BELOW STANDARDS

This Wagner student struggles to meet basic standards of the course.  

They display little understanding of content, and show little-to-no progress with disciplinary skills. 

This students needs immediate academic additional attention and a plan for intervention. 

Guidance counselor will follow up for academic discussions with families.

 

GRADE CODE FOR REPORT CARDS: NX

Typical Number Range: Below 65.
